Professional Development Program

Internships:
Placements are available to students interested in working with Portuguese-American business owners as well as for elected officials or associations supporting the primary concerns of the community. The internship program will be demand focused matching students with their interests to a member or member’s business. The internship program is an excellent way for college students to gain real world government or business experience working closely with NOPA’s network members.

Mentorships:
NOPA also provides a comprehensive Mentor Program for young professionals recently entering the workforce. Through this program, NOPA will reach out to members that have shown success in their field and match their skills with young adults who are just starting in the field. NOPA’s goal is to develop a mutually beneficial relationship between the mentor and mentee. Mentors can provide valuable assistance to mentees in career management, development and business strategies.
